Did you know...?

The Ray Meyer Fitness Center is located on Sheffield right across the street from the St. Vincent DePaul Church. I am sure you are all aware that if you are a full time student enrolled at DePaul University you have free access to all of the gym’s amenities, simply by swiping your DePaul ID. If you were not aware of this take advantage now because after you graduate the Ray Meyer Fitness Center is not free to you, and memberships can be pricey.

What can you do at the Ray? Well, you can just simply work-out, rent sports equipment, basketball courts, ping-pong, a full track, free lockers, a pool, and so much more. I can go on and on about all the activities you can do at the Ray. But I want to make you aware of two other things. The first being intramurals for DePaul students. This is a great opportunity to get together with your friends and stay fit at the same time! The intramurals that they offer you with are: flag football, soccer, scrabble, chess, basketball, kickball, badminton, volleyball, and much more. They even have XBOX 360 Madden Football! You can pick what intramural you and your friends want to join, follow the rules to registration, and you are in. It is that simple to get involved with intramural sports. To learn more about DePaul’s intramurals visit:

The second thing that you should take advantage of is the free classes that the Ray offers its members. Each quarter the Ray comes out with a new list of FREE instructional classes that they offer their members. Some of the classes include: spinning, muscle work, core stretch, crunch class, dance party, and many more. These group fitness classes are a great way to get in shape and have fun at the same time. They are providing you with free instructional classes so take advantage of them, and try one of the many classes they offer. To learn more about group fitness classes check out: I hope after reading this some of you will get out there and take advantage of what the Ray Meyer Fitness Center has to offer you, for FREE!
