Luke Willson Checks Out Some Art

DePaul University senior Luke Wilson, 23, is interviewed after viewing an exhibition at the Art Gallery in the John T. Richardson Library. The International Studies student shares his thoughts on the art work displayed in the exhibition. The exhibit, entitled Reverence Renewed: Colonial Andean Art from the Thoma Collection is on display from January 15 through March 20, 2009. The exhibition contains 40 magnificent paintings and artifacts from South America following the 16th century Spanish Invasion. The majority of the paintings feature religious influences, particularly Catholicism. Another feature of the art work that stands out are the large wooden frames of the paintings, which are intricately sculpted and decorated.
