Student Center Part II

Now, far be it from me to say that any one floor of the Student Center in Lincoln Park is better than another, but for my (fake DePaul) money, there is no beating the second floor. This is possibly because it’s where they keep all the food – but the strategic placement of a DDR machine cannot be overlooked so easily.

When you arrive at the top of the stairs, or step out of the elevator, you are immediately greeted by the sight of the cafeteria. With so many choices of delectable cuisine, it’s no wonder DePaul is rumoured to have the best campus food around. Chinese, Mexican,  Italian, Salad, Soup, or whatever the grill is cooking up, chances are, if you like to eat it, it can be found at the student center.

In addition, the majority of the space on the second floor is taken up by tables, so you will never be without a place to enjoy your meal. This space can be converted in a performance or meeting space as well. After you eat, you work it all off in the gaming area. This small enclosed area contains several arcade games, two pool tables, and the fabled DDR machine.

This floor is also the home of the Student Life Offices. You can make flyers and posters for clubs, get discount tickets to movies and sporting events, and attend meetings for some of the organizations, such as DAB.

The floor on top, the third floor, is mostly home to classrooms and offices. The office of first-year learning is located here as well. A major point of interest on this floor is the mail room. There is another computer lab on this floor, outfitted with the latest Macs complete with Photoshop and all those interesting programs.
