Five game win streak ends for DePaul women

The DePaul women’s basketball team had their five game winning streak come to end this Sunday at Notre Dame. Notre Dame edged out DePaul 69-52 bringing the Blue Demons record to 18-6 overall, 6-4 in the Big East. Deirdre Naughton, DePaul’s leading scorer, had a poor game making just 2 of 11 shots and only dishing out three assists. Her five assists per game rand 42nd in the nation. Natasha Williams had a solid game with 20 points and 10 rebounds. DePaul will host Seton Hall this Wednesday at McGrath Arena. Seton Hall is near the bottom of the Big East with a 3-7 record in conference play. Hopefully this will spark a new winning streak for the DePaul women so they can carry some momentum into the Big East tournament. DePaul has six games remaining until the Big East tournament which starts on March 6 in Connecticut. DePaul’s toughest game left on the schedule appears to be at Villanova on February 14. Villanova is 7-2 in Big East Conference play. DePaul still has three games left at McGrath Arena, all winnable games for the Blue Demons. Get out and see them!
