DePaul Women Crush West Virginia

After a couple wins by narrow margins, the DePaul women’s basketball team easily handled West Virginia at McGrath Arena this past Saturday, defeating the mountaineers 74-56. The Blue Demons held a seven point lead at the half and West Virginia was able to keep the game in reach until the midway point of the second half. DePaul was able to reach a double digit lead with about nine minutes left in the game and built on that lead until the final buzzer. Sam Quigley, a sophomore guard from Joliet, lead the team with 17 points. Felicia Chester and Natasha Williams both added 14 points for the Blue Demons. DePaul is still ranked 25th in the nation with 8 eight games remaining on their schedule before the start of the Big East tournament. Next up for the Blue Demons is Georgetown at McGrath Arena on February 4. Georgetown comes in with an overall record of 13-8, while DePaul boasts a record of 17-5. On paper, DePaul should win this game, especially having home-court advantage. But nothing is guaranteed and I encourage all of you to get out and support the Blue Demons!
